This single family house was a retrofit high performance project located in Vernon BC. The original house was almost completely removed, leaving only the foundations and lower floor 2x6 walls. The design was highly detailed in accordance with the client's requirements, as well as Passive House building methods in order to create a comfortable and beautiful, high performance home. Some of the techniques designed and built within the structure include exterior insulation attached to the 2x6 walls, high performance triple glazed windows, HRV systems and air tight construction. This house is a great example of how an existing building can be adapted to become high performance, without determent to the making of a beautiful and comfortable home. |
